These 5 things will help you to focus more on your coaching business in order for your coaching business to be all that it can be, it will require your undivided attention, but you already knew that.

Now, here at JMJ, we understand what’s involved in running a business. There are daily operations to oversee, there are administrative tasks like scheduling appointments and hiring venues that must be sorted out, and then there’s the responsibility of staying in touch with your online fan base.

A wise coach will realise the need for a competent team to handle all these important back-end duties so that they are freed up to focus on growing the business with this coaching business focus.

Focus On These 5 Things With Your Coaching Business

As an Online Business Manager who has been in the game for over 30 years, here are the five things I believe this is how you can get the coaching business focus.

1. Take care of your health

It is often said that your health is your wealth. And it appears to be true according to studies. People who exercise regularly tend to be in a better state of mental health than their peers who do not. This is because exercise has been linked to alleviating mental disorders, reducing depression, anxiety and lowering stress levels. The neat thing is only a moderate amount of exercise such as an hour walk or jog two or three times a week is required to see the positive impact in your business.

2. Take time out to recharge

Following hot on the heels of taking care of your health is the need to take time out to recharge. An alarming number of Australians are skipping out on this much-needed break. According to News.com.au, the average Australian only takes 14 of their 20 days of annual leave. Failing to take time away from work often results in burnout, elevated stress levels, and making of poor decisions. You don’t need to be away from your coaching business for a month. Often, all you need is a week at best. You’ll be amazed by the clarity of mind and energy you’ll come back with.

3. Invest in continual self-improvement

Investing in yourself is probably the most important investment you could make to better your financial future and coaching life. The skills you learn can never be taken from you. They are yours forever. Take classes in how to present yourself better, grooming, and speaking. Find tutors who can impart these skills to you and learn from them. These tutors can be online or otherwise. It doesn’t matter. All that’s important is that you are investing in becoming the best coach you can be.

4. Run your business on systems

Systems are the foundation of your business, and every fully functioning business must have them in place. Your business will only be as efficient as the systems you deploy. Systems allow you to automate certain areas of your business. They also regulate the way people interact with and view your practice. A business without systems isn’t really a business. In fact, we’ve written an entire post about it. Read about it here

5. Read to stay on top of the game

One of the most basic ways and probably the best form of self-investment is reading. As a coach, you need to be on top of your game. You need to know what’s happening around you and in your industry. You need to read books on how to become a better coach, how to speak better, how to network better. Here are a few titles to start you off on the right foot:

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change by Stephen R. Covey
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
Transformational Life Coaching by Dr Cherie Carter-Scott and Lynn U. Stewart
Becoming a Professional Life Coach: Lessons from the Institute of Life Coach Training by Patrick Williams and Diane Menendez
The Life Coaching Handbook: Everything You Need To Be An Effective Life Coach by Curly Martin
